MANILA, Philippines—The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on Tuesday urged local dioceses to organize a prayer vigil on April 11, in line with Pope Leo XIV’s calls for world peace. In a pastoral letter, CBCP president Archbishop Gilbert Garcera implored Filipino Catholics to unite in prayer amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which the Pope described as the “globalization of indifference.” “In communion with the Holy Father, we respectfully encourage all dioceses to organize a prayer vigil… so that the faithful may spiritually join this universal initiative,” Garcera said He added that the collective prayer would affirm the Church’s shared hope “that true peace… may prevail” in both hearts and the world.
