"A residential building collapsed, and another was partially damaged in Petah Tikva on Tuesday after debris from a suspected cluster munition struck the area. Footage shows emergency crews evacuating an elderly resident, while search teams use drones to scan the rubble. Other scenes reveal a collapsed structure, shattered glass, and a vehicle with its roof crushed by debris. “As you can see, Central District police officers, Border Police fighters, and rescue forces arrived very quickly,” said Adi Haran, spokesperson for the Sharon District Police. “It is a cluster munition that hit the building. It caused damage to property only; thanks to the vigilance of residents and their attention to the Home Front Command’s instructions, lives were saved. They stayed in shelters, and therefore this incident ended with structural damage only,” she added. The incident comes amid escalating tensions following joint military operations by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28. Tehran has responded with strikes targeting Israeli and US assets across the region, with the conflict extending to Hezbollah in Lebanon. The escalation has also disrupted access to the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for roughly 20 percent of global oil and liquefied natural gas. Trump has issued a 48-hour ultimatum, expiring April 8, warning Iran to reopen the route or face strikes on energy infrastructure."
