MANILA, Philippines — A total of 11,676 violators were apprehended on the first full day of the Philippine National Police’s newly launched “Safer Cities” initiative, which aims to enhance peace and security in urban areas nationwide. Of these, 2,478 were fined, 125 were formally charged, and 9,073 were warned or released, with total fines collected reaching P1,926,700.
