DSWD checks 'unauthorized deductions' from aid in Olango

MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – The Department of Social Welfare and Development has launched an investigation into alleged deductions from government cash assistance distributed in several barangays on Olango Island in Lapu-Lapu City. DSWD 7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero, in an interview on April 8, confirmed that the agency has sent a team to investigate. The team is interviewing beneficiaries and gathering evidence to verify whether unauthorized deductions were made.
