KARACHI: During the federal government’s austerity campaign, Saylani Welfare International Trust has stepped forward to play its part. For the past three days, one litre of free petrol has been provided daily to Bykea riders at selected petrol pumps. According to Saylani, this small amount of fuel can help riders start their workday and enable them to secure several rides, thereby supporting their daily livelihood. Details reveal that, considering it a national responsibility, Saylani Welfare International Trust— with the support of philanthropists— has launched the first phase of a campaign to provide one litre of free petrol to food delivery and Bykea riders. Over the past three days, hundreds of riders visiting various petrol pumps across the city have already received free petrol. Bike riders expressed their appreciation for Saylani’s initiative, stating that one litre of petrol helped them complete their first two or three rides. The income generated from these initial rides allowed them to purchase additional fuel and continue working throughout the day. Chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust, Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri, said that the sharp increase in petrol prices has created significant difficulties for bike riders. He added that Saylani has launched this campaign within its limited resources, driven by the spirit of serving humanity. The campaign will continue for several more days and is benefiting both Bykea riders and food delivery riders. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
