Nearly 1 M commuters benefitted from Manila's free ride program — report

MANILA, Philippines—Over 900,000 commuters in Manila benefited from the city government’s five-day free ride program, which ended Wednesday. According to the Manila Public Information Office on Thursday, a total of 931,831 passengers utilized the free ride program on March 30 and 31 and April 6, 7, and 8. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno had floated the idea of extending the program but said that the city government would first assess the program’s implementation and overall impact to determine whether this was feasible.
