MANILA, Philippines — Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island emitted ash on Thursday, producing a grayish plume above its summit crater, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. “The event generated a grayish plume that rose 1,200 meters above the summit crater,” Phivolcs said in a post. The event was captured in time-lapse footage recorded by the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory in Canlaon City from 6:24 a.m. to 6:29 a.m. Four episodes of ash emission have been recorded from midnight until Thursday afternoon, Phivolcs added.
