Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday informed United States Ambassador Natalie Baker that a “comprehensive and foolproof” security plan is in place for high-profile American dignitaries arriving for the high-level dialogue in Islamabad on Friday. During a meeting held in the federal capital, both the dignitaries reviewed the arrangements for the high-level negotiations scheduled to take place in Islamabad tomorrow. The interior minister confirmed that US Vice President JD Vance, alongside senior officials Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, will be received as special guests. “We have formulated an extensive security strategy to ensure the absolute safety of all foreign delegates during their stay,” Naqvi emphasised. The discussion also touched upon the prevailing situation in the Middle East. Ambassador Baker welcomed the recent ceasefire and lauded Pakistan’s “robust and sincere” diplomatic efforts in de-escalating regional tensions.
