Mourning in Shmistar - Funeral held for eight victims of Israeli strike in eastern Lebanon

"Residents of Shmistar in Lebanon's eastern Bekaa Valley mourned victims of an Israeli airstrike that hit the town's cemetery during a funeral procession on Wednesday, as part of a wider wave of strikes across the country. Footage filmed on Thursday shows mourners gathering at the damaged cemetery and carrying victims' bodies, while families bid farewells before burial. Zeina al-Haj Hassan, whose brother was killed in the strike, said he had been visiting the graves of his wife and children when the attack hit. "We were holding the funeral of a young man from the Hassan Qassim family when Israeli fighter jets targeted the unarmed mourners. This is the town's cemetery for martyrs. Does Israel fear the dead?" added another resident. Lebanon's National News Agency said the strike in Shmistar killed 11 people and injured 20 others.   Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran did not include Lebanon, as its forces claimed to have carried out 100 strikes against the group in ten minutes on Wednesday.  According to the Lebanese health ministry, the death toll from the strikes has crossed 300, in what officials described as the deadliest attack on the country since the end of the civil war in 1990. Iran's foreign minister accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement.  This comes as high-level delegations from the US and Iran are scheduled to meet in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad on April 10 for peace talks."
