'Trump is not a man of peace!' - Senegal's Sonko blames US for 'global chaos', underscores Western military failures from Vietnam to Iran

"Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has accused US President Donald Trump of 'destabilising' the world and blamed the US and Western nations for global instability. "The United States and the West have fought a lot of wars in recent decades. They did not win the war in Vietnam. They did not win the war in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Libya, in Syria. They did not win the war even in Somalia, where they were forced to withdraw, pursued by the army," Sonko stated in Dakar on Thursday. "Apart from sowing chaos and disorder behind them in these countries, none of these wars have been won because none of the objectives have been achieved," he continued. Sonko also dismissed the intervention against Iran as a failure, questioning its objectives. "It was to replace the regime. It has not been done," he said, noting that Tehran remains in its 'most radical' form while Western goals to curb its ballistic and nuclear programmes have missed their mark. “None of the objectives have been achieved, and yet the world is plunged into a chaos that does not justify anything. Mr. Trump is not a man of peace; he is a man of human destabilisation," the prime minister stressed. He also criticised the 'double standards' by Western countries, saying they publicly defend international law while supporting actions that contradict it. The US and Iran agreed on a two-week ceasefire this week, with talks set for Islamabad in the coming days. Donald Trump insisted that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz had to happen first. Tensions escalated after the United States and Israel launched joint military operations against Iran on February 28 during talks aimed at 'limiting Iran's nuclear and missile programs.' Tehran responded with strikes targeting Israeli and US assets across the region. Iran later confirmed the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was succeeded by his son Mojtaba Khamenei."
