KARACHI: Led by President Muhammad Haseeb Jamali, a delegation of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) visited the headquarters of the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), here at the Governor House, where members were briefed on the organization’s performance, technological initiatives and role in supporting law enforcement across Sindh. The visiting committee described CPLC as a “national asset of international repute,” noting that the organization has evolved significantly from its early beginnings into a key institution assisting victims of crime and strengthening public safety mechanisms. Officials at CPLC provided a detailed overview of their operations, highlighting the use of advanced information technology systems to monitor and help control law and order. The delegation was informed that CPLC offers a range of services to citizens, including verification of individuals, vehicles and mobile phones, geo-fencing, assistance in FIR registration, medico-legal support and aid in criminal investigations. The briefing also covered specialized functions such as search and rescue operations, recovery of kidnapped persons, crime data management and initiatives like the Zainab Alert Response and Recovery Agency. CPLC officials said the organization maintains databases for criminal identification, including facial recognition systems, and runs programs such as “Shanakht” for identifying deceased individuals. Members of the SHCBA delegation appreciated CPLC’s contributions in combating crime and supporting citizens, and said the bar association looked forward to future collaboration. They emphasized that joint efforts would focus on protecting civilian rights, enhancing legal awareness, and strengthening coordination between the legal community and law enforcement support institutions.
