ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari warmly congratulated To Lam on his election as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, saying that the unanimous vote of the National Assembly shows strong trust and confidence in his leadership. President in his letter expressed confidence that, under President To Lam’s stewardship, Vietnam would continue to achieve greater progress and prosperity. Referring to Pakistan–Vietnam relations, the President said the two countries enjoyed cordial and friendly ties based on mutual trust and goodwill. He conveyed his desire to work closely with President To Lam to further strengthen bilateral relations and advance shared goals of peace, stability and prosperity, while enhancing cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two peoples.
