LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — The tropical cyclone with the international name “Sinlaku” has intensified into a typhoon while outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday morning, April 11. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said it continues to observe the weather system within its monitoring domain. As of 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sinlaku was last located 2,770 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 160 km/h.
