Hot, humid weather prevails Sunday due to high-pressure area

MANILA, Philippines — A ridge of high-pressure area (HPA) will bring hot and humid weather across the country on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. At its 5 a.m. weather forecast, Pagasa reported the HPA covers Northern Luzon. “The ridge of the high pressure area extends over Northern Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres reported. “If the ridge of the high pressure area extends over our area, the chances of thunderstorm development are lower,” she reported.
