KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said the world’s attention remains fixed on talks held in Islamabad, terming Pakistan’s role as host as a major achievement. In an interview, he said he hoped the ceasefire would lay the foundation for a lasting settlement of disputes in the region. He expressed gratitude to the United States and Iranian leadership for their willingness to engage in dialogue, adding that China, Saudi Arabia and other countries had also played a part in the peace process. He said that the conflict had affected not only Iran but the wider Middle East. Speaking separately, Bilawal said bringing both sides to the negotiating table marked a significant success for Pakistan.
