"Thousands of anti-war protesters rallied in Tel Aviv on Saturday, with police escorting several demonstrators away from the rally as clashes broke out on the sidelines. Footage shows demonstrators holding portraits of victims and banners reading 'No more feeding the war machine' and 'War without an exit strategy is a national suicide', with some dressed in costumes including a chicken suit and a Netanyahu mask. Police were seen escorting protesters away from the scene as arguments broke out among the crowd. "I see thousands of people here, thousands of people who oppose the war. I remember the first day of the war — we were a group of around 80 people, when 82 percent of the population supported the war," a rally participant addressed the crowd. "We stayed here, and it dropped to 50 percent. Now we represent the majority." The protest came amid ongoing peace talks between Iranian and US delegations in Islamabad, brokered by Pakistan, after Trump announced a two-week ceasefire shortly before his self-imposed deadline. Israel maintained that Lebanon was not included in the agreement. Tensions escalated across the Middle East since the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28, despite diplomatic talks aimed at curbing Tehran's nuclear and missile programmes. Israel and Hamas agreed on the first phase of the ceasefire deal last October, with a ceasefire, exchange of hostages and prisoners, and the entry of aid. Subsequent phases included post-war governance and rebuilding."
