"A crowd of protesters gathered on Saturday outside the Embassy of Iran, located in Mexico City, to express solidarity with the country following joint US-Israeli operations. At the rally, a traditional Mexican mariachi performed pieces in an atmosphere of support for Iran. Likewise, protesters waved flags of the Middle Eastern country and held signs with messages such as 'Mexico stands with Iran', 'Solidarity with the people of Iran' and 'Stop the killing of girls in Iran'. In response, the Embassy of Iran expressed its gratitude "from the bottom of our hearts to the noble and beloved people of Mexico for their support for the oppressed". The protest, called 'For the blood of the martyrs', paid tribute to the victims of the attacks by the United States and Israel. Before gathering outside the diplomatic compound, participants reportedly marched along Paseo de la Reforma, one of the capital’s main avenues, under police protection. According to Iranian officials, more than 3,000 people have lost their lives in the country as a result of the military action launched on February 28th, which Washington claims is based on national security concerns."
