'Killings continue' - Thousands march in Buenos Aires to support Palestine, against war in Middle East

"Thousands of protesters took to the streets in Buenos Aires on Saturday, April 11, in support of the Palestinian people and in rejection of the escalation of conflict in the Middle East. Footage shows participants holding giant Palestinian flags and signs bearing messages such as 'Down with the aggression against Iran, Lebanon and Palestine', 'The bullets that kill Palestinians repress Argentines', and 'Pensioners with and for Palestine', among others. The rally, organised by the Argentine Committee of Solidarity with Palestine, brought together social, political and human rights organisations that gathered at the intersection of Callao and Corrientes and marched toward Plaza de Mayo. During the event, protesters expressed their rejection of the offensive in Gaza, denounced the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territory and demanded an end to the attacks. "There is a supremacist project invading Palestine that wants to take the south of Lebanon, and, in the particular case of Iran, they see it as a nuisance because it does not agree with them and can confront them," said Cristian Aguero, a Palestinian living in Buenos Aires. "The killing continues. Never, at any moment, have they respected anything. They prevent the arrival of humanitarian aid," Aguero added. For his part, Gerardo, a protester descended from Jews, said that not all Israeli citizens agree with their country's actions and rejected the 'barbarity carried out by the terrorist State of Israel'. "The objective is to keep expanding and continue with that 'Greater Israel' project, occupying lands that do not belong to it," the man added. The event took place as part of an international day of mobilisations and similar actions in different cities around the world in solidarity with Palestine and against the war."
