Explained: Women’s reservation, delimitation and Nari Shakti; inside govt’s three-act play in special April 16-18 session

Parliament will hold a special session to amend the women's reservation law from April 16-18. The government aims to implement the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam from the 2029 general elections. Proposed changes will delink the quota from a future Census and delimitation. This will allow women's reservation to be in place for the 2029 Lok Sabha and assembly elections.
