MANILA, Philippines — A suspected would-be trafficking victim was intercepted at the Davao International Airport after attempting to conceal her travel purpose by tampering with her passport, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Sunday. According to the BI, the 25-year-old female from Sultan Kudarat was barred from leaving the country last April 1, 2026, right before boarding a flight bound for Bangkok, Thailand. The BI said the victim initially claimed she was travelling alone for vacation, but immigration officers discovered a concealed visa page in her passport which led to her referral for further inspection.
