'Italian government is also responsible' - Milan rally denounces US-Israel ops against Lebanon, Iran following failed negotiaions

"Hundreds of activists marched through Milan demanding an immediate halt to Israeli-US military operations inside Lebanon, Palestine and Iran on Saturday following failed negotiations between Tehran and Washington in Islamabad. Footage shows rally participants waving flags and holding placards that read: 'Trump is a child killer' and 'We must oppose the crimes of the United States and Israel', among others. Speakers at the back of a moving car delivered speeches while the energised crowd chanted slogans. Protesters were later seen taping a Palestine flag on a shop shutter before marching onwards. "And he (Netanyahu) knows that they are innocent; they will come out with their heads held high. At that moment we will celebrate all the things we missed celebrating. We will celebrate the opening of Al-Aqsa," said one speaker. "And on Palestine, the Italian government is also responsible. The Italian government, with its bills, would like to make people believe that anti-Zionism is a crime," added another. Tensions in the Middle East escalated after the United States and Israel launched joint military operations against Iran on February 28. Tehran responded with strikes targeting Israeli and US military sites across the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. The conflict has also drawn in Hezbollah, which said it joined the fighting in retaliation for Khamenei's killing, while shipping routes, including the Strait of Hormuz, faced disruption following its closure. Protest comes after Washington and Tehran failed to reach an agreement after 21 hours of negotiations in Islamabad on Saturday, calling the outcome 'bad news for Iran, much more than it's bad news for the United States'. Tehran and Washington agreed to a two-week conditional ceasefire before President Donald Trump's deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has underscored that the Iranian Armed Forces will cease 'their defensive operations' if attacks against his country are halted. Israel earlier launched an air and ground military operation in Lebanon, claiming to target Hezbollah. The military operation has killed over 2,020, with 6,436 people injured and displacing more than 800,000."
