Caloocan students with highest honors get P10K

A TOTAL of 222 students from Grades 6, 10, and 12 from various public schools in Caloocan City have received P10,000 each in cash incentives for attaining the highest honors. Mayor Dave Gonzalo Malapitan said the cash incentive program was one of the city government’s ways of acknowledging the efforts of top-performing students. “It has been a practice by the city government under my administration, which was also aimed at inspiring others to follow suit,” Malapitan told The Manila Times. The city chief executive conveyed his best wishes to the awardees and students who received other distinctions during their recognition rites at their respective city schools. He affirmed the local government’s commitment to assist them in pursuing their dreams in the future. Malapitan, son of long-term Caloocan mayor and now 1st District Rep. Oscar Malapitan, likewise declared that improving the quality of education across all school levels in the city is still one of the most important priorities of his administration. “We know for a fact that making learning easier for both students and teachers is an investment for the future of our beloved city,” the younger Malapitan said.
