Fazl assails govt for global ‘influences’ on country

PESHAWAR: Chief Jamiat e Ulema Islam- Fazal (JUI-F) Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman on Sunday criticised incumbent government, asserting that it cannot be accepted under any circumstances. Fazl while addressing a “Dastoor-e-Islam Conference” in Mardan Sports Complex strongly criticised the current political leadership, government performance, and global influences on Pakistan. He demanded an immediate rollback of inflationary measures imposed on the public. JUI-F chief emphasised that the Constitution of Pakistan demands an Islamic system, alleging that the ruling authorities have deviated from its true spirit by passing “un-Islamic laws.” Fazl said that the governance system has collapsed, law and order has deteriorated, and armed groups are freely operating while citizens remain deprived of peace and employment. The JUI-F chief warned that past mistakes and weak leadership had already led to the disintegration of the country, referring to the historical separation of East Pakistan, and cautioned that continuing the same policies could result in further serious consequences. He declared that decisions would no longer be confined to parliamentary halls but would now be made in the public arena, with people taking to the streets for their rights. Commenting on the recently held Islamabad Talks, Fazl said the Pakistan stature has been elevated globally due to holding the US-Iran negotiations, adding that dialogue not ended inconclusive but the initial round of talks completed, and will soon conduct a second round. He announced plans to hold large public gatherings in Balochistan and Karachi, signalling an expansion of his party’s protest movement against government policies. He remarked that just as counterfeit currency cannot last long a “fake government” would also meet its inevitable end. On the international front, he alleged that global powers have kept Pakistan under sustained pressure for decades and linked the recent surge in inflation to external agendas. Expressing concern over the situation in Palestine, he condemned Israeli actions and stated that the Muslim Ummah seeks an end to Israel. He also voiced concern over growing ties between India and Israel, urging unity among Muslim nations to confront emerging challenges. Concluding his speech, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the people of Pakistan are dignified and resilient. He affirmed that if the country faces any threat, its youth would stand at the forefront to defend its borders, reiterating his commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and national interests at all levels.
