Morissette is making a comeback to her theater roots, as she has been confirmed to star as Middle Allie in the upcoming Philippine staging of “The Notebook: The Musical,” which opens this September. The casting of the singer, also known as Asia’s Phoenix, was announced by Theatre Group Asia on Sunday, April 12, with its overall artistic and creative director, Clint Ramos, saying that playing Middle Allie requires a “special kind of vocalist and actress,” and that she fit the bill. “Casting Middle Allie is a tough process because the character’s songs are technically challenging as they are emotionally demanding.
