"US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) reported it had struck two vessels ‘operated by Designated Terrorist Organisations’, killing five people, in the Eastern Pacific on Saturday. Aerial footage published on Sunday shows strikes hitting two vessels, which could be seen exploding and then burning. “Intelligence confirmed the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and were engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Two male narco-terrorists were killed, and one narco-terrorist survived the first strike. Three male narco-terrorists were killed during the second strike,” SOUTHCOM said in a statement. In Sunday’s press release, SOUTHCOM reported that a search-and-rescue mission for the survivor was launched. According to media reports, the recent attack brings the number of 'narco-terrorists' killed in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific to at least 168 since September 2025. The attack was reportedly carried out by Joint Task Force Southern Spear, a unit tasked with disrupting illicit maritime drug trafficking. Officials say the operation is part of broader efforts to stem the flow of cocaine and fentanyl through the region."
