Valtonen urges Iran ceasefire in talks with Rubio

Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington on Monday, with talks focused on the war against Iran, Ukraine and transatlantic security. Valtonen said after the meeting that the priority in the Middle East is to maintain the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and move towards a peace agreement. She also called for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and stressed the need to secure freedom of navigation in the area.
