Narc strike - US says 'lethal' kinetic attack on drugs boat in Eastern Pacific kills two

"US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) on Tuesday said it had struck a vessel engaged in a 'narco-trafficking operation' in the Eastern Pacific waters, killing two men. Aerial footage shows a vessel exploding following the strikes, although the exact time and date of the incident could not be independently verified. "Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations," SOUTHCOM declared in a statement. "Two male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed," the statement went on. According to media reports, the recent attack brings the number of 'narco-terrorists' killed in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific to at least 168 since September 2025. The attack was carried out by Joint Task Force Southern Spear, a unit tasked with disrupting illicit maritime drug trafficking. Officials say the operation is part of broader efforts to stem the flow of cocaine and fentanyl into the US through the region."
