Ex-generals to SC: Compel Marcos to disclose illness, undergo drug test

MANILA, Philippines — Retired military generals have asked the Supreme Court (SC) to compel the Office of the Executive Secretary to subject President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to a noninvasive drug test and to disclose the “true state” of his health. The United People’s Initiative (UPI), led by retired Philippine Air Force (PAF) Gen. Romeo Poquiz, filed on April 10 an urgent petition for mandamus and/or preliminary mandatory injunction to force Malacañang to declare the alleged “serious illness” afflicting Marcos and to come up with regular and accurate medical bulletins if his supposed condition would affect his ability to work.
