CEBU CITY, Philippines— Indigent senior citizens expressed concern over claiming their social pension after the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) required the presentation of a National ID from claimants. The DSWD however, reassures that for now, there is no strict cutoff or deadline yet. In a press conference on Tuesday, April 14, DSWD Region 7 Regional Director Shalaine Lucero clarified that while the National ID is now the primary identification required, the agency has not imposed a deadline for when secondary IDs will no longer be accepted.
