Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday called for a structured cooperative framework among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt, as senior officials from the four countries met in Islamabad for their inaugural talks, the Foreign Office said. Dar held separate meetings with Musa Kulaklıkaya, Nazih El Naggari, and Abdullah bin Khalid bin Saud Al Kabeer Al Saud on the sidelines of the first Senior Officials’ Meeting of the four countries. He appreciated the “close and brotherly relations” among the four nations and noted a strong convergence of views on key regional and global issues. The foreign minister emphasized the need to institutionalize cooperation through a joint framework focused on shared goals of peace, prosperity and economic development. Senior diplomats from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt are currently in Pakistan to participate in the meeting, aimed at enhancing coordination and exploring avenues for deeper collaboration. The talks mark the beginning of a new multilateral engagement format, with officials expected to deliberate on political, economic and strategic cooperation among the four countries.
