MANILA, Philippines–Alex Eala suffered another early exit after losing to Canadian World No. 25 Leylah Fernandez, 6-1, 6-4, in her debut at the WTA 500 Stuttgart Open in Germany early Wednesday (Manila time). After a sluggish start and was on the verge of a crushing loss, facing a 5-2 hole in the second set, Eala battled back, refusing to go down without a fight.
