"A major water leak in a discharge valve in the Torres de Potrero neighborhood, in the Alvaro Obregon borough, Mexico City, was reported this Tuesday, leaving more than ten homes and a couple of vehicles affected, according to preliminary reports. The water formed a cascade-like flow in sloped streets, which caused residents to leave their homes to observe the situation and check for possible damage to their properties, according to reports. Civil Protection personnel cordoned off the area to safeguard the population and facilitate efforts to contain the leak. Meanwhile, the Mexico City Water System (Segiagua) is carrying out valve shutoffs and technical assessment to determine the causes of the incident. For its part, the Alvaro Obregon borough is carrying out support actions for the affected families. Likewise, authorities activated the civilian disaster relief plan known as DN-III-E, with support from the Mexican Army."
