MANILA, Philippines — Cash remittances grew at their slowest pace in nearly two years in February, even before the Middle East war heightened fears of job losses among Filipino migrant workers. Data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas showed that money sent home through banks rose 2.6 percent from a year earlier to $2.8 billion, the weakest pace of increase since June 2024’s 2.5 percent clip.
