Azerbaijan wind power output surges over 50-fold in Q1 2026

BAKU, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Wind farms in Azerbaijan generated 233 million kWh of electricity in the first quarter of 2026, marking a 51.8-fold increase compared to the same period last year, APA news agency reported Wednesday. Total electricity production across the country reached 6,540.9 million kWh from January to March, down 3 percent year on year, the report said, citing the State Statistical Committee.
