On June 1, the trial against two former representatives of the ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad begins at the Vienna Regional Court. They are accused of torture and other serious crimes against civilians imprisoned in Syria. The accused are the former head of Department 335 of the Syrian intelligence service and the former head of the criminal police in Raqqa.
