The crew returned to Earth on April 10, splashing down off the coast of San Diego after a 10-day flight. During the mission, astronauts completed key objectives, including testing life-support systems, manually controlling the Orion spacecraft, conducting course corrections, flying past the far side of the Moon, and safely returning to Earth. They also set a new record for the greatest distance travelled by humans from Earth."
