Ufone customers across Pakistan may face temporary service disruptions due to ongoing nationwide electricity load shedding, the telecom company said on Thursday. Frequent and prolonged outages, often lasting eight hours or more, are affecting the telecom operator’s ability to provide uninterrupted mobile services, Ufone said in a statement. It said that the company’s infrastructure relies on backup battery systems at cell sites, which require at least three to four hours of continuous electricity to recharge fully. The current pattern of repeated power cuts is disrupting these charging cycles, reducing backup capacity and leading to potential network interruptions. Services are expected to return to normal once electricity supply stabilizes, the statement added. Ufone urged its customers to remain patient as the company works to minimize the impact of the ongoing ou tages.
