"Club Deportivo Palestino, a club founded by the Palestinian community in Chile, has unveiled a new jersey that is inspired by the flag of Palestine. This new kit was announced on March 30 via social media, as part of the celebration of Palestinian Land Day. Footage filmed on Thursday shows the club's official store in Santiago, where the new team's jersey is on display, along with previous season models and caps available for purchase. The new jersey of the 'baisanos' is now available and can be purchased by fans for around half a dollar in sizes for adults and children. Amin Sukni, the club's commercial manager, emphasised that the launch continues a tradition of designs with deep symbolic meaning. He recalled how last year's jersey, inspired by the watermelon, had a significant impact, associating it with the Palestinian identity following the Six-Day War in 1967. "Last year the watermelon jersey, the Kuffiye [white jersey inspired by the traditional scarf of the Palestinian resistance] and this year the flag one that generated a lot of impact because they are very beautiful, they are very significant, and they represent a lot for the Palestinian people. It also closely resembles the tricolour shirt, so it does not lose the essence of what the club is," Sukni stated. Ian Garguez, a player of Club Deportivo Palestino, expressed that as players 'we know what we represent' and stated that fans match by match cheer and remain loyal to the jersey and the club. For her part, Rania Sansur, a player of the women's team with Palestinian heritage, indicated that arriving at the club represented a 'leap in quality' in her career and 'it has helped me a lot in my development as a footballer'. "It is a club that gives you many tools to develop, and as a person, obviously it is very nice to be able to represent this; for my family, it is also very nice. Living in Palestine from another scenario is very nice," she stated. Club Deportivo Palestino has more than a century of history. Founded in 1920 by the Palestinian community in Chile, it has built a distinguished trajectory in national football, with titles in 1955 and 1978, as well as establishing itself as a talent development club."
