MANILA, Philippines — Six personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and one driver were arrested after being involved in alleged cigarette smuggling worth over P3 million during an operation in Misamis Oriental on Friday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said. According to the PNP, the operation was conducted at the PCG sub-station along the seashore of Purok 5, Poblacion in Naawan, Misamis Oriental at 1:30 a.m. The suspects were caught in the act of unloading boxes of alleged smuggled cigarettes from a fishing vessel as they transferred them into a Mitsubishi L300 van.
