Marcos gives Liza vegetable bouquet on wedding anniversary

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. gave first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos a bouquet of vegetables on their 33rd wedding anniversary on Friday. “After 33 years, it’s the quiet gestures that stay with you. I’ve received many beautiful bouquets, but this one felt especially meaningful ... chosen by my husband himself, straight from the market,” the first lady wrote in her social media post. “Simple, thoughtful and full of love — double brownie points!” she said. In his own social media post, the president offered a light but heartfelt tribute to his wife, expressing gratitude for her enduring presence and support throughout the years. “33 years of marriage. Through every season, in family, in work and in everything in between, we have walked it together,” Marcos said. “You have been my constant. Steady, wise and always looking after our family, while never losing sight of others. Happy anniversary, Liza. Thank you for the life we have built together,” he added. Over the weekend, the first couple slipped away for a quiet dinner date at an Italian restaurant. “Took Liza out for a quiet dinner, just a bit of time away from the day,” the president said in a Facebook post, sharing photos from their visit to Finestra at Solaire in Parañaque City. Mrs. Marcos echoed the sentiment in her own post, describing the evening as a chance to slow down. “Good food, great company,” she said, underscoring a brief pause from official responsibilities. “Sometimes it’s just nice to slow down and enjoy each other’s company ... No noise. Just us,” she added. The first couple married on April 17, 1993, at the San Francesco Convent in Fiesole, Italy. They have three children, Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro,” Joseph Simon and William Vincent.
