Some of those present at the opening of the Boy Scouts’ hall at St Kilda, showing the hall in the background. — Otago Witness, Issue 3763, 27 April 1926, Page 48 The ceremony of opening the new hall for Boy Scouts was held on Saturday afternoon outside the hall, which is close to the St Kilda tram terminus. It is a substantial wooden structure 50 feet by 50ft, and was designed and built by Mr G.H. Strong out of money collected by the Parents Committee, which secured within £100 of the £630 required to pay for the hall. A fairly large portion of the money collected was contributed by Mr Acton Adams. The hall will be the head-quarters of the Ocean Beach troop of Scouts and Wolf Cubs.
