Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on behalf of the people of Pakistan and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, expressed “deep and profound appreciation” for U.S. President Donald Trump’s message praising Pakistan and its leadership. Trump, in a post on Truth Social, thanked Pakistan and referred to its “Great Prime Minister and Field Marshall” as “two fantastic people,” highlighting his respect for the country’s leadership. His remarks came after Iran announced to open the Strait of Hormuz for passage of all commercial vessels. In a post on X, PM Shehbaz acknowledged the cordial tone of the interaction, with the message rapidly gaining traction online. Earlier, Iran’s foreign minister said on Friday that passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, in line with the ceasefire in Lebanon. The passage of vessels through the strait will be on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of Iran, Abbas Araqchi added in a post on X. In response to the announcement by Iran for opening the Strait of Hormuz for passage of commercial vessels, Trump in a social media post said: “Thank you.” Trump thanked Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar as well. “Thank you to Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar for your great bravery and help.” “Now that the Hormuz Strait situation is over, I received a call from NATO asking if we would need some help. I told them to stay away unless they just want to load up their ships with oil. They were useless when needed, a paper tiger,” he stated.
