Jammu and Kashmir has identified over 40,000 manuscripts under the national Gyan Bharatam mission. A 16th-century Takri script manuscript was found in Jammu. The project aims to conserve and catalogue rare texts. Surveys are underway across all 20 districts. Experts will assess and digitize manuscripts with owner permission.
