Man charged for machete attack on St Ann’s Bay Mayor granted $300,000 bail

The man charged for allegedly attacking St Ann’s Bay Mayor Michael Belnavis with a machete inside his home was granted $300,000 bail in the St Mary Parish Court on Thursday. Twenty-five-year-old Chad Thomas, of Ramble in Oracabessa, St Mary, is charged with housebreaking, wounding with intent and malicious destruction of property. The bail application was made by attorney-at-law Charles Ganga-Singh. As part of his bail conditions, Thomas was ordered to report to the Martha Brae Police Station in Trelawny and reappear in court on May 14.
