ISLAND GARDEN CITY OF SAMAL, Davao del Norte — This place will soon enjoy a reliable 50-megawatt (MW) power supply after Aboitiz Power Corporation opened the submarine cable linking the island to the Davao City mainland grid. This was done through Aboitiz subsidiary Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC). In an interview, DLPC president and chief operations officer Enriczar Tia said testing of the submarine cable will follow the inauguration, with electricity expected within one to two weeks.
