MANILA, Philippines — Smoke from the Navotas landfill fire that broke out on the night of April 10 reached as far as Bataan the following morning, based on satellite data released by the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA). In a map published on Friday, PhilSA said high levels of nitrogen dioxide, or NO2, were detected over Navotas City on the morning of April 11, with elevated concentrations extending westward as far as Bataan due to prevailing winds from Navotas.
