PTI leader concerned at Bushra’s health conditions

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Asad Qaiser on Friday voiced concern over the health of Bushra Bibi, the wife of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan, and criticised the government for returning her to prison after brief hospitalisation. Talking to reporters, Qaiser, former National Assembly speaker, said he prayed for her complete recovery at the earliest. He also called for immediate medical attention for Imran Khan. He demanded that he should be transferred to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for a thorough medical examination and granted access to his personal doctors. “As a former prime minister, the leader of the country’s largest political party, and a beloved leader of the people, he is not only entitled to the best medical facilities but it is also the state’s responsibility to provide them,” Qaiser said. Qaiser emphasised his long-standing personal and political relationship with Khan, which he said spanned more than three decades. “Our bond is not that of a leader and a worker, but of brothers; we stand with Imran Khan’s ideology.” He added that the PTI would continue its political movement with wisdom and prudence. He dismissed suggestions that the party needed external validation for its resilience, citing its history of facing imprisonment and legal challenges. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
