"Pope Leo XIV concluded his visit to Cameroon on Saturday with a farewell Mass, before departing for Angola as part of his African tour. Footage shows a grand send-off, with hundreds gathering as the papal convoy left Yaounde Air Base en route to the airport. Upon arrival, officials and church leaders bid farewell to the pontiff before he boarded his flight and departed. "I renew my gratitude towards the civil authorities and all those who cooperated to prepare and organise everything. Thank you to everyone, especially the sick, the elderly and the nuns who offered their prayers," the Pope said. "The People of God, who live and journey in Cameroon, do not be afraid, remain firmly united to Christ the Lord. With the strength of His spirit, you will be the only light of this land," he added. This marked both the final event of his four-day visit to Cameroon and the conclusion of the second leg of his four-country African tour, which runs from 13 to 23 April and began in Algeria.
