"The Tebnine Governmental Hospital sustained significant damage following an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon. Footage filmed on Saturday shows damaged vehicles and buildings around the hospital, as well as internal damage to the ceiling and some offices. The hospital's medical director, Suleiman Zahwi, said the situation inside the hospital had been stable prior to the bombing, explaining: "Generally speaking, things were going well; we had sufficient medical staff. We had ten doctors, all of whom were surgeons". "Until the bombing took place near the hospital. This caused psychological stress amongst the staff; we had more than seventy staff members across all departments. They were subjected to severe psychological pressure and suffered psychological trauma, "he added. Zahwi said that the Israeli airstrike "caused significant damage to the hospital, including destruction and damage to departments such as A&E, and some equipment was also damaged." Hospital director Mohammed Hamada said that the healthcare facility had received 'around 900 wounded, in addition to 290 martyrs' during the war, noting that the hospital had been subjected to several attacks in its proximity, adding: 'Our losses at this hospital are significant'. Israeli army spokesperson Ella Waweya had said in a post on the 'X' platform on Tuesday that the army had carried out strikes targeting 'Hezbollah military infrastructure' in Tebnine, denying that the hospital had been a 'direct target'. Director-General of the World Health Organisation Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus confirmed in a post on X on Thursday that the Tibnin Hospital 'was damaged as a result of two consecutive strikes in close proximity on 12 and 14 April'. "Eleven staff members were injured, and the emergency department, including critical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, stretchers and trolleys, was damaged, " he added. US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, which came into effect on Friday. The announcement came after Washington hosted direct talks between Lebanese and Israeli officials."
