MANILA, Philippines — Trabaho party-list Rep. Johanne Bautista on Sunday called for the swift passage of the Parental Childcare Bill which seeks to reduce financial burden for solo parents. Under the proposed measure, a VAT exemption will be placed on essential childcare goods, such as infant formula, diapers, and vitamins, for households earning below P250,000 annually. Additionally, the bill grants parents with two or more children an annual tax deduction of up to P50,000 for childcare-related service expenses.
